Professional Experience

Whirlpool | Industrial Designer  Present
At Whirlpool, I play a key role as an industrial designer, focusing on the development of countertop culinary appliances. My work involves overseeing several projects currently in early stages of development and production, where I engage in designing products that adhere to the company’s vision of innovation and quality.
I collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and overseas suppliers, particularly in China, to ensure that prototypes and mock-ups align with the design and functional goals. My work spans CAD modeling, 3D printing, and creating detailed product renderings using KeyShot. These renderings, which illustrate various storytelling elements, are often presented to senior leadership, including the CEO.
I support these projects from ideation through the development phases, contributing to the overall product design direction and ensuring that the design process moves forward efficiently and creatively.

Harman Kardon | Lead Junior Designer  Feb 2023 | Jun 2023
At Harman Kardon, I had the unique opportunity to work closely with major brands like Bang & Olufsen, Ford, and Lincoln. Though my time here was relatively brief, it was rich with learning and growth. My role involved working directly with suppliers and the design teams to ensure that brand identity and design standards were upheld, particularly in projects focused on badges, brand language, and executions.
I traveled overseas to meet with teams and suppliers, gaining hands-on experience in managing cross-brand relationships. I also presented design ideas at Bang & Olufsen’s offices, further strengthening my understanding of how iconic brands maintain their unique identities through design.
As a junior designer, I was responsible for fostering these relationships and helping bridge the gap between different brand teams to ensure cohesive designs. The experience, while short, allowed me to understand the complexity of design management across multiple high-profile brands.

Berling Packaging | Industrial Designer Intern  May 2021 | Aug 2021
At Berling Packaging, I focused on advancing the use of KeyShot rendering techniques within the design team. As an intern industrial designer, my responsibilities included creating photo-realistic renders for website development and customer presentations. These renders were often mistaken for real images due to their quality, which was a high compliment to the skills I had developed.
I also created animations to be used in marketing materials, helping the company enhance its digital presence. Additionally, I was tasked with educating team members on advanced KeyShot techniques, ensuring that the rendering processes were streamlined and that the team could maintain the same high standard of output moving forward.
I assisted in various design projects, contributing wherever needed while learning from experienced designers and refining my own rendering and animation skills.

Generac | Sponsored Studio  Sep 2020 | Dec 2020
During my time at the College for Creative Studies, I participated in a Generac-sponsored studio project, where my focus was on researching and developing new market opportunities for generator products. I identified key markets, including hurricane-prone areas in Florida and regions in California affected by heatwave-induced power outages.
This research led to a series of product concepts, including portable electric generators, which would allow for indoor use and be more suitable for a wider range of consumers.
Though my specific concepts were not directly manufactured, the overarching ideas I introduced—such as electric generator technology and enhanced portability—were adopted by the company. This experience not only allowed me to apply my design skills to real-world problems but also taught me how impactful thoughtful research and user-focused design can be in creating new product opportunities for established brands.

Leadership
College for Creative Studies | Mentoring
As a mentor to students at the College for Creative Studies, I guide aspiring industrial designers in their journey toward professional growth. I emphasize the importance of design as an art form, teaching students that creating beautiful, functional products is both a craft and a philosophy. My role involves providing one-on-one mentorship, reviewing portfolios, and sharing insights on design processes and real-world application.
I help students cultivate their design thinking, encouraging them to seek elegance in simplicity, just as I've learned through my professional experiences. Through weekly sessions, I offer critiques and help shape their perspectives on design, instilling the belief that every product they create should not only serve its purpose but also evoke an emotional connection through beauty and innovation.
Furthermore, I guide them in portfolio development, storytelling, and personal brand-building, ensuring they are prepared for the competitive design industry. By leveraging my professional knowledge, I assist them in understanding how cross-functional collaboration and attention to detail can transform their design approach, preparing them for successful careers.
